Join us on May 1, 2022 for The Literacy Project’s 2nd Annual Read, Write, Run 5K Road Race!
We are so excited to be back with our Read, Write, Run 5K Road Race! Race Director Thane Thomsen (former TLP Instructor) is on the job, checking the route, lining up prizes and printing tshirts! Let’s get back outside and visit with friends and neighbors as we raise money to support the work of The Literacy Project on the first Sunday in May.

Race Information:
The race starts and ends at Maines Field, 570 Riverside Drive, Florence, MA.
Walkers start at 11:00 am
Runners start at 11:30 am
Registration costs $30 ($20 for walkers)
All pre-registered runners and walkers receive an event t-shirt.
Literacy Project students and children under 12 run for free!
Course Details: 5K Run
The beautiful and challenging 5K run will wrap around the Bay State Village in Florence. The run will start at 11:30 and the course is as follows:
Exit Maines Field and take a left on Riverside Drive.
Bear right on Maple Street.
Take a right on Nonotuck Street.
After about a mile on Nonotuck (which turns into Elm Street) take a right on Riverside Drive.
Take a right on Federal Street.
Take a left on Warner Street.
Take a left on Hinckley Street.
Take a right on Riverside Drive.
After about 4/5th of a mile take a left back into Maines Field.
Course Details: 2K Walk
The 2K walk will kick off at 11:00. The walk will head down Landy Ave, which is right across from the park. At the end of Landy, walkers will take a left on Nonotuck Street and then a right on Maple Street. After a short but steep climb up Maple, there will be a left on Pine. Then walkers will head down Pine and circle around the Sojourner Truth Memorial before reversing the route and heading back to Maines Field.
