This year, we’ll celebrate Bloomsday online! Rosie Caine and the Wilde Irish Women (and Men!) offer lively readings and toe-tapping tunes in a special program to raise funds for The Literacy Project.

What’s Bloomsday?
Bloomsday is the annual literary festival commemorating the day James Joyce wrote about in his book Ulysses. It’s a celebration of language, literacy and Irish culture. Bloomsday is observed by fans around the world with music, readings, pub crawls, and gorgonzola cheese (which Leopold Bloom consumes in the book).

What is the fundraiser for?
We’re inviting donations to support our Laptop Scholarship Fund. This year during the COVID pandemic, we gave out 35 laptops to students who would not otherwise have been able to continue their studies. The Laptop Scholarship Fund allowed us to give these computers to students not just as a loan but as a gift; once they complete their high school education with us, they’ll have the tools they need to continue their education at college or in a training program. Please help us replenish the fund and get ready for next year!

Who are the performers?
Founded by Rosemary Caine of Ardee, Co. Louth, Ireland, Wilde Irish Women is a collaborative performance group based in Western Massachusetts. The ensemble comprises musicians, actors and singers who have been together since the early 2000's. Its mission is to illuminate through original music and story the lives of Irish geniuses of literature and legend -- saints and sinners included!
