Distance Learning with The Literacy Project

"Learning on the Go" is a distance learning project funded by the MA Department of Education.  Our free distance learning course provides ways for people (often with children, families, and busy schedules) to improve their reading, writing, and math skills.  They can also earn their GED, improve job skills, and/or attend college.

Learners use video, workbooks, and the internet to practice activities relating to the five parts of the GED exam (reading, writing, social studies, science, and math). We also have options to explore occupations and to develop career possibilities.  There are many benefits to learners who participate.

Although "distance learning" often refers to the distance between the teacher and the learners, we bridge that gap by having many ways to communicate with the teacher.  Phone, e-mail, fax, and personal appointments are available daily with experienced teachers.

We also offer distance learning to employees of several workplaces in Western Massachusetts, where the employees can meet with the teacher at their place of employment.  There are many benefits to employers who participate in our program.
