Ware Adult Education Center: The Literacy Project

 

 

In FY 02 the Ware Adult Education Center had 162 inquiries and performed intakes with 84 learners.  In that same time period, 71 new learners attended classes.  Eighty percent of those new learners lived in towns covered by the Ware Block Grant.    These 162 inquiries are obviously a small fraction of the 1271 adults[1] in the town of Ware without a high school diploma.

ÒWareÓ students include learners from the towns of Ware, Warren, Hardwick, and West Brookfield: covered by the Ware Block Grant.

44% of inquires resulted in attendance in GED or ABE classes; 85% of students who came for an intake interview entered classes.

83 learners took classes at the Ware Adult Education Center. (71 new students + 16 learners in classes in July Ð 4 new learners starting in July)

17 learners at the Ware Adult Education Center earned GED High School Equivalency diplomas!
