We wish to express deep appreciation for all of you who took the time out of your busy schedules to join in our strategic planning process. For those who were unable to come, we trust that the following documentation will illuminate the results of the planning process, and invite additional information that is obviously still needed.

For those who weren't in attendance, each group was given the task of taking the goal statements gleaned from the tabulated results of the Implications for Strategic Planning Checklist you all filled out and asked to identify objectives for carrying out these goals.  This was accomplished by dividing the larger group into small working group to work on one of the goal heading and the goals related to that heading. It was a helpful part of the process to determine what might be the barriers for accomplishing these possible goals and objectives, and what assets are in our region to help carry them out.

For both those who came and those who didn't, please have a look at the results of the meetings and see if there is anything more you would like to add or if there is another way you might want these objectives to be stated or identify other barriers and/or resources that relate to each objective. Goal and objective statements may need to be teased out from each other and we appreciate your suggestions for this as well.

In addition, participants were told that there were 3 possible capacities of participation for partnership members:

¨      Full participation-working hand in hand with ABE providers

¨      Lending of expertise

¨      In a position of advocacy

If you were not able to come, please let us know which objectives you wish your agency to work on with us and in what capacity.
