Analysis, Parts One and Two Introduction
Data are bits of information that can be arranged in tables and
graphs. Tables help the reader locate
data easily. Graphs show data in
relationship to other data. In this
lesson, you will learn how to use tables and graphs to find data. Objectives When you complete this lesson you will: q
Find data using tables and charts. q
Read and understand bar graphs, line graphs, and circle graphs. q
Find mean, median, and mode. Part One Learning Activities 1.

Watch Program 36 where people in a variety of jobs demonstrate how to
use tables and graphs to find data. As you watch, notice how each table and
graph help communicate data. 2. Workbook: a. Read pages
191-194 and complete the “Sneak Preview.” b. Read page 195.
Then complete and correct the exercises on pages 196-207 about reading
tables, charts, and pictographs; understanding bar and line graphs, and
understanding circle graphs. c. Complete and
correct the “GED Practice” on pages 208-210. This section is similar to the
GED Math Test. Part Two Learning Activities 1.

Review Program 36 as needed. 2. Workbook: Read pages
211-214 and complete “Sneak Preview.” a. Read page 215.
Then complete and correct the exercises on pages 216-223 about understanding
data and mean, median, and mode. b. Complete and
correct the “GED Practice” on pages 224-226. This section is similar to the
GED Math Test. 3. Internet: a. Log onto your
Home Space at http://litlink.ket.org
and follow the links to GED Connection, Math. b. Under Learning
Modules, open “Unit 5: Meeting your Financial Goals” and complete Activities
