·        Born into a aristocratic family Plato loved to write poetry & drama.

·        He was a cavalryman in the war against Sparta.

·        He was a student of Socrates.

  • He was also a teacher to Aristotle.
  • Plato was in politics but his voice was not heard.
  • The execution of Socrates scarred Plato for life.
  • Plato was always very suspicious of democracy.
