Muscular System:
Function: The function of the muscular system is to allow body movement and maintain posture.
There are three types of muscle:

1: Skeletal muscle (voluntary muscle)- supports the skeleton and allows for movement of the body. |

2: Smooth muscle (involuntary muscle) - forms the walls of the digestive tract |
|
|
3: Cardiac muscle - heart muscle. |

1: Ligament - connective tissue that connects bones to muscle.
2: Cartilage- protective gel-like substance cushions the joints and intervertebral discs.
3: Tendons- attach muscle to bone.
