What makes a true friend?

A true friend is someone who is there for you. It’s someone who is loyal and trustworthy. The only way you are going to find out if the individual is a true friend or not is by talking to that person or by hanging out with them to get to know each other.

I honestly believe it takes time to be able to trust a certain person, because I feel that you should feel people out before you trust in them. You have to be trustworthy, not only to your friend but to yourself.

What I mean by talking to the person is sitting there talking about your life history or just friend stuff.  You need to be able to confide in someone. Confiding in someone is telling them things that you need to get out in the open to someone besides yourself. Tell your true friend. A true friend wouldn’t repeat anything you say to a soul. Listen to each other when you are down and feeling sad.

Hanging out consists of going to the movies just to get away, going out to dinner, sitting there having a cocktail or two, just shooting the breeze with one another about old times or about something that has happened to them recently, or what they may want in the future.

A true friend is someone who holds a special place in your heart, not only for a day but also for eternity.
