Helping my family
through hard time!
There was a time in my life when my family needed me, and I took some action. This happened during the years of 1992 – 1993. My family went through hell. I would like to share with you what they went through in their lives, what I did to help them, and where they are in this present time.
In November 1993, I went to visit my family in Kenya, East Africa. They
were in a refugee camp. At that time I was living in Boston, MA. I wanted to
help them because they had left Somalia in 1992 due to a civil war. They had to
leave everything they ever possessed, such as their home, business and cars.
They even left behind some of their family, friends, and history that they will
never get back again. For them life was very hard and tough. They had to flee
and didn’t even know where they were going or running to. Finally when they got
to Kenya, they managed to call me for help.
Helping my family was very important to
me because I loved them very much.
Also, they suffered from hunger and violence from the enemy. I helped by bringing them out from a
dangerous situation that they had been in at that time. They are my mom,
brother, sister, and my brother-in-law.
How could I not have helped my family? I asked my close friends and my church to help me gather clothing,
medicine, and some financial assistance for them. Friends were very generous. My family couldn’t believe what I had for them. Everything was put
to good use. They loved and appreciated everything. I couldn’t be happier because I
felt like I won the Megabucks, and still do! Finally the long hard difficult waiting period is over. They couldn’t be happier and their final
journey is over. On July 13, 1994 their dream came true. They came into the
U.S.A. They started their new lives living in Boston, MA.
