Read and listened to "I Have A Dream" speech by Martin Luther King. Good discussion about

the speech. Class worked on a cloze sentence activity dealing with the Civil Rights movement.

Good class, lots of lively discussion!

Some people also worked on Career Interest Surveys.

They asked for definitions of the terms: Simple Sentence, Compound Sentence, and Complex

Sentence.

Individual Learning Time

People worked on their individual learning plans.

Two worked on Math. Two worked on Reading Journal entries.  One worked on reading

exercises, and another did some GED Science practice before learning to use the scanner and

giving Photoshop a try.

Brief lesson on Teddy Roosevelt - Progressive President and the Progressive Reform

Movement, a middle class movement reacting to the power of big business around 1880 -1920.

 

Then people worked independently. One person was writing a paper on Teddy Roosevelt (and

also did some Math). Two others worked the entire period on Math, and another worked on a

Writing Project.
