A few people finished the activity with sentences, sentence analyses, and word forms.  They

also worked on getting shorter definitions with lots of people helping each other and exchanging ideas.

Mostly Individual Learning Time

 

Joe came in with his GED certificate.  We read the competencies he had acquired, and then

applauded him after a symbolic "ringing of the bell."  (Joe is determined to get his CDL)

 

Using a map of the Middle East we quickly reviewed the Biblical and Koranic stories of

Abraham, his journey out of Iraq, and his two sons by different women.  They are very similar

with the biggest difference being about which son was almost sacrificed at God's command.

(They also liked the part about they "enjoyed" Abraham's wife in Egypt).  Most serious religious

 scholars feel that it is clear that Jews, Christians, and Moslems all worship the God of Abraham.

Reviewing the Month

Filling out the point sheets and the month end surveys revealed that one person had not
