Two people collaborated on a story (writing project) while another worked on his own.  One

learner finished his Vocabulary/Sentence Structure Activity and then did some Math.  One

learner finished his GED Pretest and did a Math Placement.

The development of the alphabet and early writing systems.

 

Early writing systems began with tokens or pictures.  Gradually the pictures began to represent

ideas or sounds. These often had hundreds or thousands of symbols. The earliest alphabet

(Canaanite or Phoenician) used very few symbols to represent the basic sounds of a language. 

The Greeks are thought to have introduced vowels.  Our alphabet comes from the Romans who

adapted theirs from the Greeks. (The Greeks got their alphabet from the Phoenicians).

One person did many (MANY) revisions on his story (adding dialog and fixing run-on sentences)

 until it was "finished".

Another mostly worked Math, reviewing whole numbers especially long division.

The third did Reading Journal Entries and Vocabulary exercises.
