Did a group writing project.
Students had to choose from one of three topic sentences and
respond to it.
1. If you could be another
person, who would you be and why?
2. If you won the Megamillions lottery, how would you spend the money?
3. If you found a suitcase and it had everything in it that you ever
wanted or needed, what
would it contain? Describe each item in the suitcase.
Very fun activity and quite creative responses from students.

slowly getting the
procedures and seem to be enjoying the practice. Interesting to listen
to them work together to
figure out what needs to go in what places.

Author, 2. Is book fiction or non-fiction?, 3. 6 vocabulary
words, definitions and use in sentences, 4. Summary, minimum 2
paragraphs, 5. Would you
recommend this book, why or why not?
Reading prompts: Think of a person (relative/friend) laughing. Recall a time when the 2 of you
had a good time laughing. What was the occasion?
Imagine your pet as a human being. What kind of person would it be?
Would you want to live in
the same house?
If all of a sudden you became invisible, what is the first thing you
would do?
Reverse dictionary activity: choose words and write sentences then look
up definitions. Words
used: novel, Manhattan, blaze, motive, presidential, horse, November and
Big Horn.
