partial sentences that learners needed to complete. We then
chose a particular sentence and added to it to make a paragraph.

precision (Writing: Structure and
Mechanics)
Nancy pased out blank index cards.
Each person had to write a word based on the prompt she
gave, ex. First Name of a person;card passed to the left, next prompt:
last name of a person;
card passed. Next prompt: age of person, card passed, next prompt: some
quirk or oddity that
student has noticed in observing people's behavior; card passed, next prompt:
a secret. Students
then had to pass the card one
last time and write a story using the facts on the card they
received.
