One learner worked on writing on period and had several of us help her with revisions.  Two

students worked on Math all period.  One of them finished an introductory unit on decimals and

the other finished a unit on solving percent problems.  One student practiced and corrected GED

 Math problems before starting a writing project.  The other student worked on Reading and

Writing (punctuation) with a tutor.

Students could choose from two different topics, or they could choose their own topic.  Some

students continued writing projects that they had already started.

Math and Writing

One student organized his work on fractions and moved into percents.  Another finished a unit

on Adding and Subtracting Decimals.  Two other students worked on writing with one revising

and finishing a poem while the other worked on a story both in long hand on the computer.

Math:

Equations (mathematical sentences where the expression on one side of the equals sign is the

same value as the expression on the other side of the equals sign.)

 

Proportions are equations showing the equivalence of two ratios.  With one student working on

percents and another starting Geometry, it made sense to look at proportions and how to solve

them.
