Write at greater length in response to a topic or question (Writing)
Writing:
Using definitions of "democracy", "republic" and "tyranny" along with the
Jeffersonian quote
about "the price of liberty" which is "eternal
vigilance" we went over some vocabulary.
Some
people also wrote out a series of questions on these concepts to see if
they could find a writing
topic.

The Five Paragraph Essay:
Four students created or resumed their Moodle Accounts and began
assessing sample essays
based on 16 criteria. They were
easily able to comment on how the 3 supporting points in the
introduction of a 5-paragraph essay are the topics of the 3 body
paragraphs.

Seven members of the group mostly worked on assessing essays in Moodle,
or writing and
revising their own essay.
Two people worked with a volunteer on Math.
A few people also met with the Transitions counselor.
One student (who just took the GED test) worked in Geosense.

I was very upset [about] what happened in class about gays +
lesbians. I don't think that the issue
should have been addressed. I took [offense] to it cause my grandmother
is a lesbian and I have
friends who are gay & lesbians.
I just don't wan that addressed again in class.
