Vocabulary and Word forms

The words for the month are: amiable, irony, rhetoric, enfranchise, and facetious.

 

We made up sentences and transformed the words into different parts of speech ex: facetious,

facetiously, facetiousness;  amiable, amiably, amiability; enfranchise, enfranchisement, franchise

  (disenfranchise); irony, ironic, ironically; rhetoric, rhetorical, rhetorically

Two students were placed in Math books and got a good start.  Both of them also got started on

 writing projects. Another worked on some advanced Word Processor formatting and also

practiced long multiplication

Finishing Up.

In response to repeated requests from various students we are piloting a "Monthly Score"

system based on attendance, Writing projects completed, Math Units completed, and

Vocabulary Units completed.  Using the score sheet as a guide, people finished up their work

and looked at the monthly goal list to see if they could find additional points.
