Use free-writing to compose simple, original sentences and short paragraphs
(Writing: Strategies)
Writing activities…Each person in
class closed their eyes and picked a word from the dictionary.
A list was compiled. We then had
to write a paragraph or at least 3 sentences
using as many of
the words as we could. This was a good activity. Most participants used
a minimum of 3 0f the
6 words, and some used them all.
We then chose from a number of pictures from magazines and wrote about
the picture. No one
did a description of what was in the picture, but instead created a
story about the picture.
Word List: Phosphate, squawk, emulsify, gluten, meow, goofy, come, reel.
