Did a crossword puzzle. Read and
discussed several articles in the newspaper. Read article
about the 16 year old who went to Iraq without telling anyone. Gave
class outline for 5
paragraph essay and asked them to answer the question: What did they
think about his
adventure. Would they punish him if he were their son?
Class started first draft of answers to the question.

and healing herbs. Read about dolphin

Discussed article in the Recorder about the "Lost Kingdom"
that was discovered in Indonesia
and the various plants and animals thought to be extinct that were
discovered there also.

really liked the exercises. Some were
challenging but they
plodded on through. These exercises have been good for their spelling
skill building.

fractions as a group. Then students did individual math and
some reading. Went into Joe's class at 11 to hear 2 people from AFSC
talk about the things the
military does in its efforts to recruit young people.
