Writing:
Started the class giving some prompts - mostly for Colin and ended the
class by going over
revision strategies - mostly for
Bobbie.
The two learners worked hard all period - just writing and taking time
to conference and discuss
their issues with writing or the particular piece they were working on.

Only one student showed today, but
he logged into Moodle and enrolled in the Charboneau Fall
Writing course where he evaluated a sample essay in a thoughtful way. He
also started a very
good first draft and started to revise it to make it look more like a
five-paragraph essay.

Math - Mostly independent work, but
we all practiced converting decimals to fractions in a
step-by-step manner.
1. Counting the decimal places to 2. Identify the correct
denominator. Then we 3. used the
decimal (without the point) as the numerator and 4. Reduced to lowest
terms if necessary.

MATHEMATICS - Perform basic computations; approach practical problems by
choosing from a variety of math techniques
Math - Indendent Work.
One learner did a post test in the Decimals and Fractions book and then
took home the Percents
and Proportions Book. The other
finished a Civil War quiz before practicing whole number
operations (especially rounding) and starting to learn some basic measurements.
