Study Skills and Testing.

2 people completed the Owl testing and then did GED practice testing.  (One of them also wrote

 a practice essay.) One learner did a reading exercise on the Civil War.  Another learner did her

first TABE.

At the end of the class we went over squares, square roots, and the Pythagorean Theorem.

Practice Testing and Individual Work

Two students did practice GED testing.  Two students worked together on fractions and

decimals in math.  One student wrote several drafts of an essay attempting to improve

organization AND mechanics.

Writing:

Most people chose to write on the topic: "The most unfair situation" with one person writing a

poem which was posted to the web and two people writing narrative stories.

Two others worked on their own GED essay with one of them trying to write a timed GED

practice essay on the computer.

Reading, Writing and Revising

One learner started a reading journal while also starting a book on Napoleon.   The other did a

series of revisions on an essay looking at word endings, a more professional style and tone, and

more vivid vocabulary.
