We discussed:
class expectations: 1 finished piece of writing per month
different types of writing - not
all writing is meant to be shared.
The writing process - it often
takes a lot of steps to come up with a finished piece of writing.
Dealing with spelling and mechanics is important, but not usually one of
the first steps.
Everybody did at least three attempts at writing, and shared one of them
with the instructor.

INTERPRET & COMMUNICATE INFORMATION (Information (Acquiring and
Using))
Resume Workshop
Jim Parcells from the Career Center had the class look at five different
(genuine) resumes. We
listed what we liked and didn't like about each as Jim pointed out the
different parts of an essay
and the different strategies for writing one. The group also decided which essay was the best
and discussed the most important things to consider when writing an
essay.
The job of an essay is to convince an employer that you are someone
he/she should interview you.
