Did a couple of math reviews. One exercise was a crossword with a variety of math problems,

including multiplication, division, per cents, and conversions.

Finished our unit on the Civil War and gave them a review lesson using facts from the readings.

Did a map direction review.

                                            Express thoughts in complete sentences (Writing)

Did the crossword puzzle from News for You. Picked several words from the puzzle and had

class write sentence using the words. There were many words in the puzzle that they had not

seen before so this was a good way for them to become familiar with the words in context.  Did

some spelling/writing exercises. Class seemed to really like this kind of fast paced review.

                             Differences between fact, opinion, and interpretation (Perspective & Interpretation)

Worked on articles from the newspaper. Class wrote main idea and 3 important facts from

article they chose and sheared it with the class. Finished some left over spelling exercises.

Reviewed some fraction work. Practiced finding common denominators, least common

denominators and reducing .

Writing activity…finding misspelled words in a business letter and correcting and rewriting the

letter in the correct form. Some practice with prefixes and suffixes and corrected spelling.

 

 

Reviewed the new history books and made a plan for best way to use them.
