--Complexity of managing and resolving conflict (Conflict & Resolution)

African American History

Worked on a crossword puzzle. Read current event articles. Focused on article," Judge Dismisses

Lawsuit for Slavery Reparations".  This article tied in directly with the black history/slavery/underground

railroad unit we have been working on. Discussed and then wrote about whether students felt reparations

were justified or not. Most felt sympathetic about the reasons for reparations, but wanted to know where

the money would come from. Many felt that if there was an award of money, it should not go to the

families but  be put into a fund to help blacks with education, housing, employment, etc.
