Charboneau Thanksgiving
Louise
was lazy this year and only roasted one 25 pound turkey and brought it in with
all the fixings. We all
appreciated it though.

DAY
Charboneau
had a Holiday Wizard and a Santa capped Gorilla parading up and down Main
Street in Greenfield
encouraging holiday shoppers to take
advantage of local discounts while also contributing to Adult Literacy. Many
thanks to Amber Ortiz for making
this happen.
Resume
Workshop with Jim Parcells
Jim
Parcells from the Career Center visited the Afternoon GED for Success
(Transitions) Class. He had them
evaluate and compare actual resumes
of young people with similar levels of job experiences. He also showed
them many of the online job
readiness resources on the Career Center's website including MassCIS
Reality
College
Charboneau
sent 5 students along with 5 from Even Start to take part in GCC's Open
House. Amber Ortiz made
sure everything ran smoothly.

Class Activities
November was a very busy month with lots of new students (while a few
old ones decided that
they could not make the necessary commitment to regular attendance..)
The afternoon "GED for Success" class had six regular
attendees by the end of the month,
and it looks like the enrollment in that class will continue to rise.
Joe's morning Pre-GED class also
filled up although its attendance became more irregular
(partly due to some serious health problems that several of these
students are experiencing.
We have at least 3 learners with serious liver disorders and one with
cancer). They did some
work with sentencing while also continuing to study the Civil War and
classification systems in
the Life Sciences.
Louise's mooring ABE class worked on summarizing text, finding main
ideas, and reviewing
the Civil War. They also did
some Math work in percents and proportions.
