Welcome to the Amherst Adult Learning Center, located at 401 Main Street in Amherst. We are right on the Route 30 Bus line and only a ten minute walk from the center of town.

All our services are free and they include:
reading, writing, basic math skills, and G.E.D. preparation.
We also offer beginner computer classes.

We're always taking new students, so feel free to contact us any time. Our hours of operation are Monday-Thursday, 9:30-5:00. However it is best to call for an appointment.

New students must come in for an interview before starting classes. The interview takes about 1 hour and includes a short placement test. Most students start classes within 2 weeks.

The Amherst Adult Learning Center is part of The Literacy Project. We provide accommodation for persons with disabilities, and are partially funded by the Department of Education. We also receive some funding from private donations.
